SAVE sponsors various events throughout the year to provide useful information and uplift the spirits of those impacted by violence. Events include the Annual Holiday Gathering held during December to assist families dealing with grief during this season. Our Annual Crab Feast/Silent Auction is held to raise funds for a scholarship given to a high school senior entering into an institution of higher learning who has lost a loved one to homicide. Other events include special services at the Homicide Memorial Garden located in Cylburn Arboretum (4915 Greenspring Avenue). Revitalizing Mind, Body, Spirit- Wellness and Butterfly Release held at the Ruscombe Mansion featuring professional health and wellness coaches.

HOLIDAY ADOPT A FAMILY

Each year a low income family will receive food, clothing and toys based on the family member’s age, sex, and wish list. 

SPEAKERS BUREAU

Members have appeared on local and national programs educating the public on the special needs of homicide families. Our speakers have reached a place in their healing where they have taken control and feel comfortable sharing their stories and providing beneficial information that will motivate their audience. Neighborhood organizations, prisons, faith based groups, schools, youth programs may request speakers at no cost.

SCHOLARSHIPS

Annual fundraisers afford SAVE the opportunity to offer a scholarship to a Baltimore City graduating high school senior who has lost a loved one to homicide and has made a commitment to enter an institution of higher learning. Recipients of the scholarship have attended Morgan State University, Coppin State University, Hampton University, and Hood College etc. 

EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITY YOUTH FUND

Stipends are available for children who have lost a loved one to homicide and do not have the means to participate in extracurricular activities. The stipend may be used to assist with summer camp, sports activities, day camps, etc.

EMERGENCY SERVICES

Limited amounts of funds are available for families who recently lost a loved one and are in need of emergency assistance
